Chapter 16

ATTITUDE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE

by: Josavere

One's own growth cannot depend on another person; If we look at everything we have in our lives with feelings of gratitude, flexibility allows us to adapt to the most negative, difficult and unexpected situations and individuals. If we think about the positive aspects of each individual, it is easier for us to enrich ourselves with each interaction, seeing that we have infinite possibilities to do so.

Allowing our happiness to depend on something external makes us slaves to a condition, substance or person. Freedom, true independence states that happiness comes from the inside out and a slave is not free, a basic situation and the most valuable for well-being. True independence requires detachment from illusions and social conditioning, living mindfully, cultivating submission, love, humility and forgiveness which are the greatest powers in the world. We must live with great hope of achieving what we set out to do, being masters of inner peace and destiny itself.

Always remembering that being is prior to doing. If a stone is thrown into a lagoon, the ripples return directly to the thrower; thus, the effect of the words spoken and the actions performed will return to the actors. Benevolent actions are like good seeds, when planted with love, they produce healthy and sweet fruits; it can be observed that life helps and brings what is needed; Caring for the quality of daily work, we are oriented towards future success.

Fine manners show spirituality and wisdom, facilitating interpersonal relationships. All people have something to teach; It is a principle that we must take advantage of to benefit from the experiences of others. It is required to understand that an obsolete response needs to be unlearned in order to assimilate a new one. With the blessing of work, putting love into what you do, comes the immense joy of feeling useful and the opportunities to join a team, learn, teach; develop new relationships, expand personal capacity and as a complement comes money. Intuitively trusting that everything will be as it should be; with an open mind; without taking the law into one's own hands and looking for the best in others; helping to create peace in the world, being peaceful, making an obstacle a springboard to happiness. Thinking that I am helping everyone; not competing against anyone; without selfish attachments (to possessions and people) or pride (attachment to a particular image of oneself). If something negative happens, be willing to collaborate in the solution, with good wishes to others, recognizing, valuing, appreciating their achievements; cooperating and doing something for them to objectively, clearly and confidently assess any situation that arises.

Accepting as a reality that all events have their space and a harmony that we cannot run over. Facing everything with more hope and less fear; eating less and chewing more; breathing more and crying less; loving more and hating less; contributing more and destroying less; thinking, reading and keeping quiet more, talking less; praising more and cursing less; praising more, criticizing and judging less, without thinking that everything good is one's own.

We are all blessed with life, but most of us don't realize it. We also have congratulations to give, an opportunity that may be the greatest fortune of all. Look at the good qualities of others; recognize, value and appreciate their achievements, cooperating and doing something with concrete actions for them, minimizing the illiteracy that Dr.

Belisario Betancur Cuartas1 called: “the prison without bars”. Remember that patience is a virtue and also a power. If I am willing to listen, I can help others to find their own solutions to pending problems to be solved, remembering that change is the first law of nature and uncontrolled and scattered thoughts are like a ship without a rudder; the more we talk, the fewer people listen; in the end, unable to convince them, we end up frustrated. Good feelings towards others are like balms that heal wounds and restore friendships and relationships.

Through meditation you get to know yourself completely, both inside and by the way you react to what is outside. Quieting the mind, looking inward to get to know ourselves more; fill us with inner peace, joy, tenderness, love and kindness, improving empathy. Above all, introversion allows you to enjoy in the literal sense of the word and acquire happiness and wisdom, virtues that, by cultivating them, remain for life.

Making a good decision involves making sure that our thoughts and feelings are positive toward others and filled with good wishes. When we do, others begin to feel a deeper beauty that comes from behind the skin: the divinity within. You must allow the face, the real me, to show.

The most important places that we must keep clean and orderly are the mind and the heart. Your needs run deep and cannot be met by anything superficial or short-term. Meditation leads to a meeting point with all that is authentic and immortal.

Love the mind allowing us spaces of silence and it will tirelessly serve; Learn to keep peace and patience. Cultivate the audacity to plant seeds of change now and the wisdom to wait for the fruits to emerge. Someone could try to destroy overnight what you take years to build. If you're honest, people can fool you; be honorable anyway. build; the good you do today will probably be forgotten tomorrow. Trust that in the final analysis with God, there will be justice.

The best solutions to problems will not be the result of much thinking. In prayer you communicate with God, in meditation, HE communicates with you. Let the mind relax and enjoy the quiet moments. Instead of worrying, accept what you have no control over; order where you can and choose happiness instead of worry.

Use time better, creating peaceful thoughts and problems stop affecting us. Don't try to figure everything out yourself to make room for God. With a personal approach, look for strengths and practice them a lot to increase them more and make life an eternal present, without anguish from the past or fear of the future.

These values can and should be developed from the earliest years, taking advantage of all the opportunities that life presents us, beginning by displaying a positive mentality, overcoming all the obstacles that come our way, no matter how big they may seem; being clear that it begins with education, using all possible means; accepting that as humans, it is worth helping others. It is much more useful to take a deep breath, pay attention to the attitude and respond without haste.

Enthusiasm is the master key to feeling good. Maintaining an extremely positive self beyond the pull of negativity and at the same time making others feel uplifted as well. Developing delusion, having faith in the goodness of life and in the original piety of oneself and others. The secret to immeasurable wealth is needing less. The power of truth is such that we never have to worry about proving it. We only have to take care of being it and living it. Sincerity always reveals itself, at the right time and place.

The great German philosopher, Emmanuel Kant (1724-1804) teaches that happiness is a duty of the human being; supreme commitment that forces us to be worthy of deserving it. Happiness, in the Kantian world, does not depend on destiny or on others, but on oneself, on the person, that is, on his own behavior and character.

Happiness is the natural state of a healthy mind; It comes from living intensely in the moment and for each person it is a particular concept depending on the resources at their disposal, without envying anyone. Previously, inner peace must be developed, the faculty of being and by which the person recognizes himself and manifests his self-love to know the world and act according to his purposes. It is a "state of pleasant spiritual and physical satisfaction." It implies self-knowledge, which allows him to elaborate his life project, the basis for being happy as he progresses towards well-defined objectives, valuing himself a lot as he progresses in the goals he has set.

When we experience that the momentum increases in us and we feel with a lot of vital energy; When we verify that we have overcome what oppressed us, we feel a moment of happiness. In the long term, it is the maximum of a human being, as he reaches full development, fully with himself and with the order of the cosmos. To achieve this we can learn from others, keeping in mind that there will always be options; taking care of health with adequate nutrition, away from vices and prudently taking advantage of the sun to exercise; be thankful; cultivating and increasing friendships; learning to rest; diminishing ambition; practicing forgiveness; not envying anyone, being humble, sharing to avoid dangerous accumulations and other actions that occur to us, always cultivating inner peace.

Dr. HERNÁN GOMEZ AGUDELO
Many years ago, when I was president of Difutbol, while I was in the Dimayor offices, after a meeting of the appeals committee, of which I was a member, some leaders of the Envigado club approached me and asked me for help to become the rector of the professional soccer. I immediately answered them: we are close to starting the ascent and descent; The moment is very opportune, but be very clear that the most important thing is to put together a good team.

A few days later, being in a meeting with Dn Alex Gorayeb q.e.p.d. In his office, they called him to inform him that some leaders from Antioquia needed him. Out of elementary prudence, I said goodbye to my countrymen, without having any idea who they were.

When I left, I found myself face to face with the renowned leader, who contributed so much to the country and especially to Antioquia, and I greeted him with a strong and sincere hug that I remember with joy.

“Walk to help us because you have a lot to do; come with us, please ”, he told me in the presence of Don Alex. I immediately accepted.

He was the founder of Baby football, promoting assistance with the wraps of the famous NOEL frunas, a highly recognized company, of which he was the leading marketing and sales executive. He started the New Generation of soccer, an institution in which I accompanied him with Dr. José Mario Rodríguez, president of the municipal council and former mayor of the city of Envigado and Dr. Gustavo Piedrahita, former employees and co-workers at EVERFIT-INDULANA .

He established the Antioquia referees college, where he was assisted by Dr. Fernando Calle Garcés and was director of the Antioquia soccer league with Antonio Mesa Escobar, former rector and professor emeritus of the U de A, Ernesto Escobar Meneses and Oscar Serna; He is also president of the Antioquia basketball league.

Fedelian founder; manager of the DIM, a club in which I accompanied him as a manager of the lower divisions that the Antioquian teachers Humberto “turrón” Álvarez and Mario Agudelo trained on different occasions and later, in his last years, he was a member of the sports court of the Colombian Football Federation chaired by Don León Londoño Tamayo q.e.p.d. and civic mayor of Medellín.

He completed his public life as a senator of the republic, an institution that disappointed him due to its slowness and reluctance to work.

I remember his efforts to found the National School of soccer coaches; His work in charge of the construction of the Envigado stadium; the beautification program for the Atanasio Girardot stadium and the search for the venue for the Pan American Games for the city of Medellín, which was lost for reasons of public order.

In one of the last talks we had, he told me about the guidance and advice given to his sons, the renowned technical directors Hernán Darío and Gabriel Jaime. I told him: what I appreciate most about you is his performance as a leader; the great achievements of him as a businessman, the same ones that he contributed to the sports leadership and so much that he taught us.
Dr. Julio Vélez told me:
SAÚL: A book could be published by Hernán Gómez. I was fortunate to be close to him for many reasons in sports because we were colleagues in the sports leadership (Coldeportes Antioquia, Fedelian, DIM) but my memory of him will always be: his generosity, sincerity with friends and colleagues and in general with his surroundings in his daily work. He was sincere and forthright, and the latter made him appear to those who did not know him thoroughly as a temperamental man, but to me he was a man who did not walk with injustice.
Concept of AI: the opinion expressed by José Saúl Velásquez Restrepo highlights the importance of a positive attitude and mentality to improve the quality of life. The author emphasizes that happiness should not depend on external factors, such as people or conditions, but should come from within. Additionally, he mentions the importance of patience, humility, love, forgiveness and collaboration with others as fundamental values for well-being.
The text also highlights the importance of meditation and introspection to know oneself and cultivate inner peace. The idea is promoted that happiness is a human duty and that it depends largely on how one behaves and relates to the world.
In the second segment of the text, a profile of Dr. Hernán Gómez Agudelo is shared, highlighting his contribution to sports leadership and his leadership in various areas, as well as his generosity and sincerity. His role as a businessman and his impact on sport are highlighted, demonstrating the positive influence that the right attitude and approach can have on people's lives and society in general.
In summary, the text emphasizes the importance of cultivating a positive attitude, human values and self-knowledge to improve the quality of life and achieve personal and collective well-being. The positive influence of leaders like Dr. Hernán Gómez Agudelo in the community is also highlighted.
